Publication date:

Request:

Under the previous government planning guidelines PPS7, introduced in 2004, local planning authorities could approve new, isolated homes in the countryside based on the "exceptional quality and innovative nature of the design," where it was "truly outstanding and ground-breaking." (PPS7, Paragraph 11).

Under the current National Policy Planning Framework, local authorities can still approve new isolated homes in the countryside based on "the exceptional quality or innovative nature of the design" where it was "truly outstanding or innovative." (NPPF, Paragraph 55).

Questions:

1. How many applications for new isolated homes in the countryside did your council receive each year from 2004-2012, related to, citing or under PPS7, Paragraphs 11, and how many of those did it approve?

2. How many applications for new isolated homes in the countryside did your council receive each year since 2012, related to, citing or under NPPF, Paragraph 55, and how many of those did it approve?
