Inter borough lending
1. What date did your authority first announce that it was at risk of Section 114 publicly (through Cabinet or Full Council papers, for example).
To be clear, I don’t mean when the authority issued a Section 114, I mean when it issued its first public warning that it was at risk of Section 114.
2. Since that date, can you please provide a list of local authorities, in chronological order, that have lent you money via ‘inter-borough lending’. Please provide the date that the funding was borrowed, who you borrowed it
from, the date that it will mature, the total that was lent and the outstanding amount that is yet to be re-paid.
It should look like the following, for example:
Date Borrowed: From: Matures Total borrowed: yet to be re-paid
12 March 2023 Westminster City Council 12 March 2024 £10 million £4.5 million
18 March 2023 Newham Council 18 October 2023 £5 million £3.2 million
3. Has there been any occasion when your authority has not paid the lending authority back on the required mature date? (i.e. have you defaulted). If so, please provide the details of that case.
