Roadworks on Dunnings Lane, Bulphan

Publication date:
Thursday 29 June 2023
Request:

I am requesting the total cost for the recent roadworks on Dunnings lane Bulphan, bear in mind the works overrun by around 3 weeks, and why these roadworks were carried out extremely fast compared to other roads in Thurrock that require repairs, order number 052, 2023 on public notices,

Response:

The work along Dunnings Lane was recently completed following an inspection where a number of defects that met intervention level were identified for repair.

As these defects met intervention level as outlined in our Highway Maintenance Strategy work was started as soon as possible.

An initial order was placed for about £60k but Contractor was advised additional work was likely to follow as were aware of additional serious edge deterioration since the scoping site visit was undertaken, additional work would therefore require a longer works duration.

It is estimated that the final cost will be in the region of £100k, however the final costs have not yet been submitted by our contractor as work has only recently been completed.
