Request: 

1. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for all such children.

2. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for children in foster care.

3. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for children with Special Educational Needs.

4. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for children whose nearest suitable school is beyond two miles (if below the age of eight) or beyond three miles (if aged between eight and 16).

5. The highest daily cost of home to school for any individual pupil in the financial year 2022/23.

Response: 

1. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for all such children. Total No of children – 1509, Total cost - £5,358,746.41

2. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for children in foster care. Total No of children – 10, Total cost - £213,410.85

3. The total number of children that the Council funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23 and the total cost for children with Special Educational Needs. Total No of children – 554 (this includes SEN Post 16), Total cost - £2,657,392.16

4a. The total number of children that the Council whose nearest suitable school is beyond two miles (if below the age of eight) or beyond three miles (if aged between eight and 16) funded transport from home to school in the financial year 2022/23. Total No of children – 151,

4b. The total cost for children whose nearest suitable school is beyond two miles (if below the age of eight) or beyond three miles (if aged between eight and 16). We are unable to provide this information as the total figure is captured across several costs centres, so this includes children who were entitled to transport under a different eligibility criteria.

5. The highest daily cost of home to school for any individual pupil in the financial year 2022/23. £280.00 daily
