Get involved as a council tenant or leaseholder

Housing Service Tenant Panel

How you can get involved

There are lots of ways you can be involved in shaping and improving the services you receive as a tenant or leaseholder.

Housing Service Tenant Panel

The Housing Service Tenant Panel plays an important role in ensuring tenants’ voices are heard and valued. Made up of council tenants, the panel works in partnership with our housing teams, sharing experiences, ideas, and feedback to help shape and improve services, keeping tenants at the heart of what we do.

If you are community-minded and would like to join the panel, please see our form below.

Alternatively, email volunteering@thurrock.gov.uk to find out more and apply.

Working groups

As well as the main Housing Service Tenant Panel, we have working groups that bring together residents and service areas to collaborate, share knowledge and perspective in the development of service improvements. The working groups will focus on specific challenges or opportunities within the housing sector including:

  • Health and Safety
  • Tenancy
  • Complaints
  • Housing News

Housing Service Tenant Panel meetings

The Housing Service Tenant Panel bi-monthly at the Civic Offices in New Road, Grays.

The Tenant Panel aligns with new legal obligations introduced under the Social Housing (Regulation) Act 2023, which came into full effect in 2025, which places resident engagement at the heart of housing governance.
