Coronavirus (COVID-19) – bus travel and timetables

From 15 June 2020, bus users must wear a face covering or mask at all times while on board, and try to follow social distancing rules. You should check latest timetables and advice from bus operators: Ensignbus, First Essex, NIBS, Stephensons, TfL.

From 2 August, bus routes 5A, 5B and 100 have new timetables – go to First Essex: timetables.

From 1 September, National Concessionary Bus Passes can be for used journeys within or starting from Thurrock between 9am and midnight, Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and bank holidays. For journeys wholly outside Thurrock, bus passes return to being valid from 9:30am to 11pm, Monday to Friday, and all day at weekends and bank holidays.

Thurrock Bus Users Group

Bus users in Thurrock are welcome to join the Bus Users Group. It is a regular meeting of:

  • residents
  • bus operators
  • the councillor responsible for transport
  • local ward councillors
  • council officers

The group works to make Thurrock’s bus services safe, pleasant and satisfying. It discusses:

  • requests for more bus stops or shelters
  • changes to timetables and routes
  • other bus service matters
