Get involved in planning

Have your say on planning policy statements of community of involvement

A Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) says how people can get involved in the planning process and have a say on how the area will develop. We are consulting on draft SCI documents for Thurrock and for south Essex.

Have your say on statements of community involvement. Comments must be received by 5pm, Monday 27 January 2020.

Have your say on planning applications

You can make comments on individual planning applications. We will use our discretion and take into account any comments received up until we prepare our recommendation report.

Go to make a comment or objection to find out more.

Most planning applications are delegated for decision by our planning officers. Larger, more complex applications are considered by the Planning Committee. An application that is initially delegated to a planning officer may later be referred to Planning Committee if it is 'called in' by a councillor.

Go to referring applications to Planning Committee to find out more.

You can speak at the meetings of the Planning Committee before members of the committee take their decision. You must make your request to speak no later than midday, 2 working days before the meeting.
