Community groups
Local people will need to decide which organisation should take the lead in creating their neighbourhood plan. In some places, existing community forums may want to put themselves forward. In other places, local people might want to form a new group.
There can only be one neighbourhood planning group for each area. The boundaries for the neighbourhood will be proposed by the group but have to be agreed by us.
Membership will be open to residents, employees and businesses. The minimum membership is 21 and the group must include individuals who either:
- live in the neighbourhood area
- work in the neighbourhood area
- represent the area as councillor
Groups, including community forums, must be approved by us for neighbourhood planning purposes. We will publicise an application for approval for 6 weeks.
