Residents meet Thurrock Council’s top team at Tilbury for third ‘Ask the council!’ public question time

Residents had the chance to put their questions directly to members of Thurrock Council’s cabinet and leadership team during the third ‘Ask the council!’ public question time on Wednesday 25 June.
The question time event, held at Tilbury Community Association, brought together residents from across the borough for an engaging discussion about the council's plans, as well as the issues and concerns most important to them. Subjects raised that were of specific interest to Tilbury residents included air pollution, grass cutting and the Tilbury Towns Fund plans.

Some of Thurrock's most remarkable looked after children and young people have celebrated their inspiring achievements during a special awards ceremony.
The Children Looked After Celebration Event was hosted at Orsett Hall on Friday 13 June, for a red carpet and movie-themed evening.
The event was attended by some of the borough's most inspiring looked-after young people, as well as carers, councillors and council staff.

Carers enjoy a well-deserved break

Carers had the chance to unwind, learn new skills and meet with other people going through similar experiences thanks to a special week of events hosted by Thurrock Carers Service.
Thurrock Carers Service provides information, advice and support for unpaid carers who support relatives, friends or neighbours who would find it difficult to manage without their help.
As part of Carers Week (Monday 9 June to Sunday 15 June), the service has hosted an array of entertaining events for carers of all ages.

Thurrock’s ‘Day of Fun’ helps parents prepare children for school

13 June 2025
Almost 100 parents, carers and children were in attendance for a special event to help prepare for starting school or nursery.
On Saturday 7 June, Thurrock Council hosted a 'Day of fun with your little one'. The free event offered parents and carers the chance to get practical advice and learn fun play activities that encouraged problem-solving, exploration and shared play to build foundations for future learning at home.
