Private hire operator's licence
For the safety and protection of the public, private hire operators in Thurrock must have a licence issued by us. The licence permits you to advertise and accept bookings for private hire work. You can apply for, or renew, an operator's licence online.
If you intend to take bookings from an operating base situated outside Thurrock, you must apply for an operator's licence from the appropriate local council. You can only use vehicles and drivers licensed by the same local council that issued your operator's licence.
The licence is valid for 12 months from the date it was granted.
