Private housing assessments

Private housing service request

If your landlord or letting agent is not dealing with repairs after you have reported a problem, or if you believe they may be breaching your rights under the Renters’ Rights Act, you can report this to us using the link below.

Report a problem with private rented housing

Please answer all questions as fully as possible and upload a copy of your tenancy agreement, along with any other relevant information, such as correspondence with your landlord or agent.

We will contact your landlord or agent to inform them of the concerns raised, including any potential Renters’ Rights Act issues. We will then arrange to inspect the property where appropriate. In many cases, landlords or agents engage with us at this early stage, allowing us to work together to resolve the problems quickly and effectively.

We work with landlords to make sure basic housing standards are met so you can remain in the property – we do not help you move you to a different property or council housing.

Private housing matters are dealt with our Private Housing service.
