Sunshine Centre for disabled children

Our sessions are for children with behavioural or physical needs, whose families have little or no other access to respite locally. Support is available, based on current needs, for children and young people up to 18 years-old. We carry out assessments to make sure everyone is treated fairly.

Different groups are run by experienced staff throughout the week, including a Saturday club.

Information, advice and support is available for disabled children and their families.

We keep a register of disabled children for statistics. Information is kept on a voluntary basis.

The Sunshine Centre was inspected by Ofsted on 13 April 2022. Ofsted rated us 'Met' – the highest level in their rating system – meaning we met all the requirements of their inspection. Ofsted previously inspected us on 14 August 2014 and rated us 'Outstanding', the highest level in their old rating system.
