Teviot Avenue redevelopment

Better housing for residents

We are redeveloping Teviot Avenue in Aveley.  This involves demolishing the 3 housing blocks at 158-228 Teviot Avenue(evens only) and building new homes in their place.

Why this work is needed

Thousands of people are waiting for affordable council housing in Thurrock. In June 2022, a report found we need to build up to 1,381 properties each year from 2014 to 2037 as our share of the UK's overall housing target. Redevelopment at Teviot Avenue will help us meet this need.

At Teviot Avenue, we plan to build high-quality homes that will be energy-efficient, accessible and secure, with private outdoor spaces for every household, making them ideal for modern living. This will raise the standard of living for residents and also improve the local environment.

Working with residents and leaseholders

We are working closely with the residents in the current blocks to:

  • provide full information at each stage of this process
  • assessing their housing needs and discuss options
