Eating at home

Overview

If you struggle to go shopping or make your own meals, you can get meals or 'ready meals' delivered to your home.

Ready meals are pre-cooked before being sold, so they only have to be re-heated. All you need is a microwave and some space in your freezer. You can buy ready meals direct from supermarkets – most will even deliver to your door.

Community schemes can also deliver hot or frozen meals direct to your door.

These services are available to everyone, regardless of disability or age.

You should always try to make sure you get a balanced and nutritious diet – go to NHS: eat well.
