Complaints we might reject

Complaints about a councillor’s policies or political performance will be sent to the councillor and their political group

We might reject the following complaints:

  • complaints about our services, policies or performance
  • complaints about a councillor’s policies or political performance
  • complaints about another council
  • vexatious or frivolous complaints
  • minor or 'tit-for-tat' complaints
  • complaints about events more than 3 months before you first knew about them
  • complaints from a councillor about other councillors
  • complaints from council officers
  • complaints other internal or external processes are already looking into

If we do reject your complaint, we will tell you why.
