Keeping safe from abuse

We work with Southend and Essex councils to make sure all organisations in the wider county of Essex play a role in safeguarding vulnerable adults.

We have produced the Southend, Essex and Thurrock safeguarding adults’ guidelines to help agencies to safeguard adults. It explains what agencies must do when abuse happens or is suspected.

We also use Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE): safeguarding adults at risk of harm – a legal guide for practitioners.
