1) Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL.
2) Nomination papers must be delivered, by hand, to the Returning Officer, Electoral Services Office, Ground Floor, CO2, Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL between 9am and 5pm, on any working day from the date of publication of this notice (excluding bank holidays) but no later than 4pm on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
3) If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 7th May 2026.
4) Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
5) Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL by 5pm on Tuesday, 21 April 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-postal-vote
6) Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
7) Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL by 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. Some applications can be made online.
8) Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Civic Offices, New Road, Grays, Essex, RM17 6SL by 5pm on Thursday, 7 May 2026. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.
