Elections for one third of the council will take place on Thursday 4 May 2023.

Some wards have 2 elections every 4 years. Other wards have 3 elections every 4 years. Thurrock has no council elections in 1 year out of every 4 years.
Sometimes we need to combine council elections with other elections.

The last council elections took place for one third of the council on 5 May 2022.
Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner (PFCC) elections are held every 4 years.
The last election of a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex took place on 6 May 2021, after being postponed in 2020 due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Next elections are due in 2024.
