Public access to private land

The register below lists statements and deposits received under Section 31(6) of the Highways Act 1980 or Section 15A(1) of the Commons Act 2006.

When we receive applications from landowners they make a statement to be held and published on our register. Within their statement, landowners show the public rights of way and public land for recreational use that already exists as part of the land outlined within their application. They make this statement to prevent any future claim for the existence of further rights of way across the land.

Deposits made before 1 October 2013 were valid for 10 years. Deposits made from 1 October 2013 are valid for 20 years. This register does not include statements and deposits that have since expired.
