Mid-licence inspections
You must submit your vehicle for an MOT test when you first apply for a licence, and then once a year afterwards.
Compliance tests are needed:
- on initial application for a licence, regardless of the vehicle's age
- once a year for vehicles up to 5 years-old
- every 6 months for vehicles more than 5 years-old, up to 8 years-old
- every 4 months for vehicles more than 8 years-old
Your vehicle licence paper will say when your mid-licence inspections are due.
Your licence may be suspended immediately if you don't submit your vehicle for a compliance test when it's due
