Becoming an adoptive parent

Domestic adoption

We can work with you to adopt a relative or step-child.

People sometimes think that they maybe ruled out from adopting a child because they are:

  • single
  • divorced
  • unemployed
  • disabled
  • gay
  • an older person

None of these are reasons to exclude you.

The majority of children who need new families are in this position because of concerns about the parenting they have previously received.

We want to find prospective adopters from all ethnic backgrounds, including black, white and Asian, to give children a loving and supportive home.

We need individuals and families to adopt children of all ages, sibling groups and children with disabilities.

Prospective adopters are particularly welcomed for:

  • older children
  • siblings
  • children with special needs or disabilities
  • children with delayed development
  • children from black and ethnic minority backgrounds

Such applicants would be given priority consideration.

Nothing to be scared of

Deciding to adopt is a huge decision but it might not be as scary as you think. It can take a while to go through the process, and you will be asked lots of questions, but our team will be there every step of the way to support you.

Once approved, we have a dedicated team who will be able to offer post-adoption support and training to help you build your new life as a family.
