Ceremonies and venues

The following fees and charges apply from 6 April 2026

Marriage, civil partnership, naming, renewal of vows and commitment ceremonies

The following non-refundable fees apply:

• £70  – deposit when booking a ceremony at Thurrock Register Office in the Lacey Room
• £110 – deposit when booking a ceremony at Thurrock Register Office in the Mulberry Suite

• £160 -  deposit when booking for a Registrar to attend an external approved premise
• £50 – admin fee to change the date or time of a ceremony. Please check the Thurrock Council - Thurrock Register Office ceremonies terms and conditions before requesting any changes

If you need to cancel your ceremony, you should give us notice in writing at least 56 days before the ceremony date.

We will charge half the fee if you cancel your ceremony with at least 56 days' written notice.

We will charge the full fee for either:

• failure to attend
• cancellation with less than 56 days' written notice

For details of room capacities, go to approved premises in Thurrock.

An additional £130 charge to the above cost will be added for marriage and civil partnerships ceremonies taking place on Valentines Day, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve if they fall on a weekday, excluding those that take place in the Registrar’s Office.

An additional £130 charge to the above cost will be added for marriage and civil partnerships ceremonies taking place on Valentines Day, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve if they fall on a weekday.

Floral bouquet

You are welcome to borrow one of our artificial bouquets for use during your ceremony. This is included in the fee for your ceremony.

Naming, renewal of vows and commitment ceremonies at Town Hall rooms 

*These fees are subject to VAT. Fees shown include VAT at 20%

Marriage and civil partnership ceremonies at other approved premises

The fees for registrars attending a ceremony at a non-approved venue along with a Register Office ceremony.

For weekday ceremonies on Valentines Day, Christmas Eve and New Years Eve an additional £130.00 will be charged, excluding those in the Registrar’s Office.
