Ceremonies and venues

The following fees and charges apply from 1 April 2024.

Marriage, civil partnership, naming, renewal of vows or commitment ceremonies

The following non-refundable fees apply:

• £134 – deposit when booking a ceremony except at Thurrock Register Office Registrar's office
• £46 – deposit when booking a ceremony at Thurrock Register Office Registrar's office
• £47 – admin fee to change the date or time of a ceremony with at least 24 hours' written notice

You should give at least 24 hours' written notice if you need to cancel your ceremony.

The full fee will be charged for:

• failure to attend
• cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice

Fees are payable to Thurrock Council via the Superintendent Registrar – for their attendance and that of the registrar of marriages – before whom a civil marriage or civil partnership is to be solemnised in any of other listed approved premises.
