Parking enforcement

How to pay a penalty charge notice

If you park illegally – that is, in contravention of parking restrictions – you may be given a Penalty Charge Notice (PCN).

The charge – also called a 'parking fine' – will be either:

  • £70 for a serious contravention
  • £50 for a less serious contravention

If one of our Civil Enforcement Officers issued the PCN, you'll get a 50% discount if you pay within 14 days.

You can pay your PCN either online or by phone using a debit card or credit card. We accept Mastercard, Visa, Maestro and Visa Electron.

If you have received a warrant

You cannot pay your fine online or by phone if you have received a warrant – you must pay the bailiff company directly.

Pay your PCN online

You can pay your PCN online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You must have the PCN number ready.

Pay your parking PCN

You can also view your Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) details online. You must have the PCN and vehicle registration number.

The PCN details pages will show you options to 'Pay PCN Now', select the PCN and then 'Pay and Enter Card Details'. When making the payment, however, you will be asked to re-enter the PCN number and enter the amount you are paying.

Pay your PCN by phone

You can pay your PCN by phone from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. You must have the PCN and vehicle registration number ready.
