Specialist education not at school
Olive AP Academy in Tilbury is an alternative provision academy that provides a broad curriculum to a diverse group of young people.
The academy caters for young people and children who have experienced difficulty in learning for a variety of reasons.
They also offer support to students in mainstream schools who are experiencing difficulties and are at risk of exclusion.
The academy assesses all pupils when they join and can provide special educational needs (SEN) support for:
- communication and interaction difficulties
- cognition and learning difficulties
- social, emotional and mental health difficulties
- sensory and/or physical needs
They offer appropriate personalised planning and differentiation for pupils with SEN. Teaching is responsive to different learning styles to allow for meaningful, effective learning and inclusion for all.
