Pre-school support
You can find pre-school support for your child's speech, language and communication at any of the following.
Family hubs
Family hubs offer a wide variety of services and activities for parents, families and children aged 0 to 5 years. Visit your local family hub to ask about the services they offer, or talk with someone about your worries. You don't need an appointment.
Each hub has an information board on speech and language development.
If you are concerned about your child's speech and language development you can go to a speech and language drop-in session to talk with a NHS children's speech and language therapist.
Early years and childcare
All nurseries offer inclusive early education opportunities for all children. This includes:
- school nurseries
- pre-schools
- playgroups
- child minders
They all have a special educational needs co-ordinator (SENCO) who you can talk to if you have concerns about your child's development. Our Family Information Service can help you with early years and childcare choices.
