Support for schools

Thurrock Schools' Forum

Thurrock Schools' Forum is the main consulting group for the distribution of schools funding. The group also considers any changes to the Thurrock Scheme for Financing Schools.

The forum is a legal body and it works under the Schools Forum Regulations.

The schools forums regulations explain the membership of schools forums. They also set out forum proceedings and the financial issues on which they must be consulted.

Forum members broadly represent the schools and academies population. It has:

  • head teachers or principals
  • pupil referral unit members
  • governors
  • church members
  • a member of the 0 to 11 Early Years and Planning Strategy Group and 11 to 19 years Strategy Group

The schools' forum guide for schools and academies explains its role and their responsibilities. Go to GOV.UK: Schools forum – a guide for schools and academies.
