Your new Libraries website – launching on 1 April

We will be launching our new Libraries website on Wednesday 1 April. The site will not only have an improved look and feel, for the first time you will be able search the catalogue, join, log in to your account and borrow books from the homepage. Our existing Library webpages may be offline from Friday 20 March, in preparation for launching the new site. All your account information will be carried across on Friday 20, and will be there in the new site. The App will continue working throughout. We have more information on our website

Special events at libraries can include talks by authors, storytelling shows for children, book festivals and much more. Check these web pages or visit your local library to find out what's on.

Every summer we invite children to take part in the Children's Summer Reading Challenge.

Book sales

From time to time libraries have sales of books that are no longer needed. Libraries are always buying new books to maintain a good quality of material for lending. Book sales often have a range of items – both children's and adult material – including jigsaw puzzles, music cd's and dvds - to buy at a very low cost. Book sales run during library opening times during specific dates throughout the year. Current prices can be found here. The next book sales are listed below:
