Exporting from Thurrock

Types of food may be prohibited, restricted or subject to special requirements.

You should check the procedures for each country to which you wish to export food.

Exports to China

There are special requirements for exporting food to China. These include:

• pre-approval of the manufacturer
• pre-approval of the exporters
• pre-notified signatories for health certificates

This process of meeting these requirements takes time. You should contact Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) urgently if you are considering exports to China.

We strongly recommended you don't enter into a contract for exporting to China – or any other country – unless you have made sure procedures are in place to allow it.
