Library notices

All Thurrock libraries will be closed on Monday 6 May (Early May bank holiday) and Monday 27 May (Spring bank holiday). Libraries will be open at their usual times on all other days in May.

Printing direct from your own device

You can print direct to a library printer from your own computer, tablet or smartphone using our Wi-Fi Print service.

You don't need to install anything. You don't even need to be in a library to send files for printing. Simply:

  • use the Wi-Fi Print button below to access the service
  • login using your library membership number
  • send your files for printing – don't worry, they won't print straight away
  • go to any Thurrock library within 24 hours
  • use your library membership number at a self-service kiosk to pay the printing charge and release your files from the printer

If you don't collect your files within 24 hours, they will be deleted from the Wi-Fi Print service.

When you send a file for print it is held in our library system for up to 24 hours until it is printed or deleted. Library staff will only access the system to view or reprint files when strictly necessary – for example, to reprint files if the printer jams or your prints are not usable.

Wi-Fi Print is available from any Thurrock library – check opening hours at find a library.

Files you can print

You can use Wi-Fi Print to print the most common document file types – PDF, DOC and DOCX – and common image file types such as JPG, JPEG and PNG.

When you sign-in, you'll find a full list of file types you can print. If you want to print a type of file that isn’t on the list, we recommend converting it to a PDF file first.

Each file sent to Wi-Fi Print must be no larger than 150MB.

Use Wi-Fi Print

Use the button below to access the service. Login using the library membership number shown on your library card, then select 'Print a document'.

Printing charges

There's no charge for using Wi-Fi Print itself but you must pay our standard rate for printing, depending on how many pages or sides you print and whether in colour or black and white.

You can find details of printing charges in our library fees and charges section.
