Online with your library

Your new Libraries website – launching on 1 April

We will be launching our new Libraries website on Wednesday 1 April. The site will not only have an improved look and feel, for the first time you will be able search the catalogue, join, log in to your account and borrow books from the homepage. Our existing Library webpages may be offline from Friday 20 March, in preparation for launching the new site. All your account information will be carried across on Friday 20, and will be there in the new site. The App will continue working throughout. We have more information on our website

National Theatre Collection

Proud to support the National Year of Reading 2026: Go All In

The National Theatre provides the best of British theatre in its National Theatre Collection for schools, universities and the wider education sector.

The collection is also available to all Thurrock library members for free, making it easier than ever to watch theatre.

To access the collection:

  • book a library computer at a Thurrock library
  • visit the library at your booked time
  • sign-in to the library computer using your library membership card number
  • open a web browser on the computer
  • use the National Theatre Collection bookmark in the web browser

You must bring your own earphones to listen to plays.

You can only book a library computer for 2 hours, so you should let the library staff know before you start watching. They may have to extend your 2-hour booking to cover the full duration of the play you'd like to watch.
