Why have you changed your website?

We have developed a brand-new look to our website to put reading at the heart of the library service online. For the first time you can search the catalogue, join, log in to your account and borrow books from the homepage.

Where will I find my account?

You will find your account on the top right menu (on a computer and tablet) and via the three black lines icon/Hamburger menu button (on a mobile) with all our other main services

How will I search for a book?

To search the catalogue for any type of item just click the magnifying glass on the top right menu or via the three black lines icon/Hamburger menu button (on a mobile) and a search bar will pop out and type in the title or author and press enter

Can I find something new to read?

The new website will actually give you book recommendations. If you are not logged in it will advise what is most popular. If you are logged in the website will give you recommendations based on your borrowing history. If you don’t have any borrowing history, you can set your favourite genres in your account and the system will start recommending you based on your choices

How will I renew my books?

To renew your books, go to your account via the top right menu there is a section which says my loans/renewals click on the renewal all button you can either select renew all or individually select which item you wish to renew

How do I renew my item via the phone?

You can now complete basic tasks with your library account via your phone, perfect for if you aren't connected to the internet or you're having trouble navigating your online account. The phone line provides an automated service for customers wishing to renew existing loans, place reservations or review/update their personal account details. Will the site show information on library locations and other services?

You can find all the information on all our library services and locations via the middle menu bar or via the libraries icon in the top right menu this menu bar scrolls via the arrows on right and left of the menu

How do I search for an event?

Events have a number of ways of searching each via the events icon on the top right menu

You can search all events by scrolling through

You can search by category of events i.e author talks or children’s events

You can search by location – each library is separated into their districts to tell what is happening in your local area

Where are my reading lists?

Your reading lists will be found in your account under my lists

How do I create and update my reading list?

You can either create a reading list on the catalogue by selecting the item and pressing the plus button from here you can create a new list or select from one of your older lists. Alternatively, you can go to your account and under my lists you can edit, rename and add new lists

I haven’t lost my lists from the old website, have I?

No you haven’t lost your lists we transferred them over from our old catalogue and can be found in the my list section of your account
