Blue Badge "advice" warning

Some private websites charge a fee for advice and help with applications for a Blue Badge. These websites are not connected with us or the government, and do not guarantee a successful application. If you've been affected by a private website that has charged you a fee, you should report it to the Citizens Advice consumer service.

We advise residents simply to follow the advice and links here on our website.

Returning a Blue Badge

There are several reasons why you may need to return a Blue Badge to us.

These include when the holder has:

  • moved out of Thurrock
  • moved into permanent residential care
  • passed away

If you find a Blue Badge that has been lost or stolen, you can return it to us.

How to return a Blue Badge

You can return a Blue Badge by post, sending it to us at:

You can return a Blue Badge in person by handing it in to our Civic Offices at the address above, or at any Thurrock library.

If the badge holder has passed away, you can return their Blue Badge to our Register Office when you attend an appointment to register a death.
