The Thameside is available for hire, offering you a first class customer experience.
Thameside Theatre hire
Thameside Theatre hosts hundreds of performances each year. Its stage is 9m wide and 8m deep, set in a gently sloping curved auditorium that offers excellent views from all seats. The auditorium has 315 seats – front left seats can be removed to make a space for musicians playing live.
A licensed bar, a sweet kiosk serving hot and cold drinks, and an ice cream tray service at the interval are all included as part of the hire.
Monday to Saturday between 6pm and 11pm we charge a fixed price for the full 5-hour block. Charges are by the hour before 6pm, after 11pm and on Sundays.
There is an additional one-off charge of £150 for each performance with an audience present.

Thameside Theatre bar and foyer area for weddings, parties and conferences
This open area is available for hire between 9am and 11pm, Monday to Saturday. It has 60 seats and capacity for up to 200 people standing.
Prices include front of house and bar staff. Music, sounds, lights and technical staff can be hired at additional cost – please ask for details.

Thameside 2 room
Our Thameside 2 room on the third floor of the Thameside Complex is available for hire between 9am and 11pm. There is capacity to seat 45 people, or up to 16 people in a classroom-style. The room has its own projector.
Commercial hirers can choose either to take our insurance cover for an additional 9% of the hire charge, or to provide a copy of their own liability and building damage insurance.

Thameside Complex ground floor gallery
Our ground floor gallery space can be used for exhibitions. There is no insurance cover on its use because the area is unsecured.

Thameside Theatre technical equipment
Your hire price includes:
- stage lighting
- sound desk
- wired microphones
- 2 technicians – one for stage and one for lighting upstairs
You can choose to either provide your own sound engineer or pay for an extra technician.
We can offer a range of additional technical equipment and special effects. If you would like to take advantage of these, you will be charged for them after your event, once we have confirmed they have been used.
You can use our price list below to account for equipment costs in the total outlay for your event. All staff and equipment prices include VAT at the standard rate, where applicable.
We offer special packages that can be tailored to your budget and needs. These can be discussed with our Technical Manager before the event.

Le Maitre firing system with up to 14 pods fired independently. Cartridges are available in a range of colours and effects from theatrical suppliers – we hold a small stock but please check availability.
This system must be used with great care and a trained pyrotechnician in attendance – small confetti-type cartridges cannot be used due to contamination of our low ceiling.
Pyro cartridges are priced individually. Cost depends on requirements, to be discussed with our technician.

|Radio microphone system||Radio mic system has 12 belt-pack type microphones, with lightweight head worn mics and 4 handheld radio mics. The belt-packs run for up to 5 hours on 2 AA batteries, which are provided free of charge.
This system cost more than £8,000, with replacement microphones costing about £600 each. To get the best from this system you will need to delegate a full-time sound operator and radio mic assistant to keep control of the packs.

|Star cloth||LED star cloth operated from lighting desk or on stage. About 4.5 metres wide and 4 metres high. It takes around 10 minutes to hang and patch.||£28.80 per day|

|Digital projector||The theatre is equipped for digital cinema with a Barco DP100 projector. It can be used to project images or video in most formats but its focus is fixed and requires use of the cinema screen that is rolled down at the front of the stage – this takes 1 minute.||£66 per day|
|Flame machine||Up to 4 flame machines capable of flames 2.5 meters high, fired from the lighting desk by DMX cables. Price includes cartridges.||£66 per day for up to 4 units|
|Orchestra pit and back row||
Seats C1 to C7 and D1 to D7 are removable to make an extended orchestra pit for up to 6 musicians. Seats O1 to O4 and O11 to O14 are removable for video, if not being used for wheelchairs – seats in the row in front will also need to be blocked off.
Seat removal must be by prior arrangement and done in advance of audiences arriving. 2 people are needed to remove and put away the seats. There is no charge for removing seats to give access for wheelchairs.
