About the museum
Explore your local history at Thurrock Museum, in the Thameside Complex, Grays.
You can find more than 250,000 years of Thurrock's past in display cases with more than 1,500 objects.
Discover the mammoths from Aveley, the earliest known Thurrock coins dating to 75BC, prehistoric flint tools, Roman pottery, Saxon artefacts, medieval finds from Grays, and interesting objects all the way up to the last century.
Events and exhibitions
