Learning at your library

Your new Libraries website – launching on 1 April

We will be launching our new Libraries website on Wednesday 1 April. The site will not only have an improved look and feel, for the first time you will be able search the catalogue, join, log in to your account and borrow books from the homepage. Our existing Library webpages may be offline from Friday 20 March, in preparation for launching the new site. All your account information will be carried across on Friday 20, and will be there in the new site. The App will continue working throughout. We have more information on our website

Basic computer skills

Our free Wiser4IT course is for anyone who wants to learn how to use a computer.

Wiser4IT is ideal for those over 50 years-old but anyone can ask to take part.

The course has 5 sessions that take place over 5 weeks. Sessions cover:

  • using a mouse and getting started on a computer
  • exploring the internet
  • sending and replying to emails
  • typing simple documents and word processing
  • adding pictures and clip art to documents

Sessions last 2 hours, with a break for refreshments.

The sessions are very informal and you can learn at your own pace.

If you'd like to take part in a Wiser4IT course, or any of our other learning and support sessions, simply complete the online form below.
