Learning at your library

Your new Libraries website – launching on 1 April

We will be launching our new Libraries website on Wednesday 1 April. The site will not only have an improved look and feel, for the first time you will be able search the catalogue, join, log in to your account and borrow books from the homepage. Our existing Library webpages may be offline from Friday 20 March, in preparation for launching the new site. All your account information will be carried across on Friday 20, and will be there in the new site. The App will continue working throughout. We have more information on our website

iPads and other computer tablets

Our free Talking Tablet sessions can help you get to know your iPad or other computer tablet device.

Small tablet computers with touchscreen displays are ideal for enjoying your hobbies and interests.

Talking Tablet sessions are available in all libraries or online.

You'll be able to find out more about:

  • using your tablet's camera
  • editing photos
  • videos
  • downloading from the web
  • using apps such as FaceTime, iTunes and iCloud
  • keeping your data safe with security settings and back-ups
  • browsing free e-magazines
  • reading e-books

Bring your tablet with you to explore all the amazing things you can do with it. We will help you become more confident using your device and show you how to get the most from it.

Sessions last 2 hours, and you can come to as many as you like.

If you'd like to take part in a Talking Tablet session, or any of our other learning and support sessions, simply complete the online form below.
